It never fails to be a huge pull in the world of reality TV.
And it seems that after BB’s dismal display in the ratings war with Love Island, this year’s Celebrity Big Brother will be coming back with a plethora of famous faces – and very soon.
The 2017 version marks the show’s 20th series, after it first launched in 2001 on Channel 4.
The official Celebrity Big Brother start date has been confirmed for Tuesday 1 August 2017 at 9pm on Channel 5.
When does Celebrity Big Brother 2017 start?
While last year’s summer instalment of CBB aired in July, show bosses appear to have rethought the schedule and pushed it back to its previous slot in August – which would see it roll into autumn.
Previously, when contacted by Mirror Online, a spokesperson for the show declined to comment on air dates regarding both edition of Big Brother , saying: “We haven’t yet confirmed the end of BB nor the start of CBB.”
However, it has now definitely been confirmed to start on Tuesday 1 August 2017.
Before series 18 the summer edition had always kicked off either in mid or late August.
A brand new CBB logo has been unveiled ahead of the new series, this time featuring a glamourous gold design.
In a statement from Big Brother producers, the new series promises to offer either a holiday heaven – or holiday hell.
“This summer, our celebrities will take a break from their hectic schedules for a stay in the country’s top celeb retreat – the Celebrity Big Brother house,” says Channel 5.
“Here they can let down their guard and unwind away from the paparazzi. It’s sure to be holiday heaven for some celebrities and a holiday from hell for others.”
“The Big Brother house is undergoing a complete redesign ready for its new star guests. It will become a high end retreat inspired by celeb hotel hang-outs.
“But while the celebs kick back and let their hair down, Big Brother never takes a day off – after all, he wants to ensure that the celebrities will have an experience that they will NEVER forget!”
Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On the Side will return weeknights with Rylan Clark-Neal. Joining him will be a variety of celebrity panellists, talking heads and an audience of CBB fans to debate hot topics, reveal exclusives and go behind the scenes of the main show.
And while this year’s line-up for Big Brother has left many fans confused and bored, it appears that show runners are set to try and pull some huge names out of the hat for Series 20.
